OVERVIEW

Hire employees under Emerhub’s payroll. App allows to have full-time employees in all around the world, without having to set up local entities or administering the personnel.

The goal of this project was to come up with a tool for Emerhub’s client and Admin that allows them to hire employees under Emerhub’s payroll in all around the world. Also maintain Compensation, Invoices, Leaves and other payroll related documents under one roof.

The Problem

The traditional hiring process is often a one-way “conversation” between the recruiter, Candidate and client. This is achieved by some calls and F2F interviews. While all still important, the biggest change has happened to the way, i.e. remote position.

Today, 40% of the employee work from remote. Like many other companies, Emerhub struggles to give its client a platform that can not only help them in finding the right candidate but also maintain their employees Compensation, Invoices, Leaves and other payroll related documents.

Taking a step on Research

The research I conducted helped me to understand the needs of a tool for Emerhub. Talking to Emerhub stakeholders helped me identify some key insights.

  • The existing product is having lack of features and not user friendly.
  • It made to understand Roles and responsibilities of user at each level
  • What are the Day to Day/Monthly tasks that need to be accomplished

Interviews

During the initial discovery phase, Emerhub helped to set up 1-1 telephonic interview sessions with their stakeholders. I interviewed people with diverse backgrounds to understand their approach to connect and manage clients.

Then I came up with application flow diagram which was a representation of all the common user needs, goals, tasks that I derived from the Stakeholder interviews, user interviews, and contextual inquiry.

The Process

We used the agile iterative approach for the project that helps teams deliver value to their customers faster and with fewer headaches. Instead of betting everything on a "big bang" launch, we aimed to deliver work in small, but consumable, increments. With the help of our product managers, we began prioritizing on user stories with detailed tasks necessary to complete the story in an upcoming sprint.

Usability Testing

I tested the product at various stages of the project.

Were tested with the stakeholders weekly to get feedback on the functionality, content, and interactivity of the product.

Unmoderated User testing

A few dummy groups were created within EMERHUB account exectuives to use the app. All participants were using the app to carry out hypothetical tasks.

Impact and Outcome

The product helped Emerhub Admin to manage clients under one roof. The product was initially created for existing client but soon it was shared with all new clients who wanted to hire and maintain employee data.
